Import or
British?
So as not to seem biased, we sell imported
and British-Made machines.
However,
there are imports and there are 'imports' - just like there are
sellers and 'sellers'.
Over the
last few years, the internet has been flooded by cheaply-made
imports. Finding a good quality imported heat press, is very
much like finding a 'needle in a haystack'.
A lot of
heat presses are made in the far east, and, in our opinion, are
fairly sub-standard. Low grade metal is often used which makes
the machines flimsy and unable to cope with the pressure often
required when heat pressing. Added to this, the electrical
parts are again of low quality, if not dangerous in many cases.
We know this, as we have imported all types of machines and lost
money! Some machines have just ended up in the skip!
Cheaply
made imported machines also require 'rest' in between jobs
otherwise they are prone to overheating - which, in itself , can
be dangerous.
As we said
in our opening sentence, we do import some machines ourselves
and have a fairly strict quality control with our
suppliers. This was not easy to achieve! Having said that,
whilst the imported machines which we supply are a lot better
than what's available elsewhere, we would still always recommend
a good quality British Made heat press over imported ones. Our
British-Made Presses are clearly marked with a Union Flag, so as
to make it easy for our customers to identify.
The influx
of cheaply made heat presses from the far east has also
attracted 'sellers', who hope to make a quick fast buck by
offloading heat presses at lower prices on the internet. The
unfortunate thing is that some of them will be selling imported
heat presses this season and another widget, the next. This
often leaves purchasers high and dry when it comes to support -
we know that because we get many calls for support because
these buyers they did not get any support or guidance from their
supplier.
A poor
quality machine and a lack of support from a supplier can easily
hamper the success of your business. A combination of both of
these can often lead to failure before one has even fulfilled
the first couple of orders. Yes, quality products do cost
more, but equally, it can be a false economy to buy
something based purely on price alone.
At Creative Printers, you can have full confidence when
